BlenderAVC 0.7 released, now including BAAM
I released version 0.7 of BlenderAVC yesterday, which has been updated with a few new features and now includes a Blender build based on the recent 2.48a source code.
The package now includes BAAM (BlenderAVC Asset Manager). This Python script runs within Blender and allows you to browse your video clips (processed by BlenderAVC) and easily add them to the VSE timeline.

I will have to try out BAAM! Thanks for making it available! Being able to preview my video clips before importing them will be ace! I will have to see if it plays the preview fast enough… but good work!
Bravo…

First, thank you so much for the work you are putting into this! I love Blender, and to be able to use it as my NLE is so promising!
As it stands, I am banging my head into the wall because the AviSynth-enabled build of blender doesn’t work! When I add the avs file to the timeline (per the BunnyHopHop workflow), blender crashes. Same goes for the original m2t files, as well as MJPEG .mov files, which open fine in a standard blender build.
Debug mode (”blender.exe -d”) merely outputs “MPEG 1.0 layer II, 384 kbit/s, 48000 Hz stereo” before exiting. No error message or anything, unfortunately.
I’m at a loss… I really want to get this working and hopefully help anyone else having this problem. Oh, and by the way, the BlenderAVCGUI part works great, and the resulting .avs files play fine in Media Player Classic.
I sure hope you can help me. I’ll buy you a beer…
Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.
Best,
Luke

Luke,
Since I’m not yet providing an install package, there might be some pre-requisites missing.
The first think I would do is download and install the standard 2.48a Blender package, and then try running the AviSynth Blender again.

Rob,
Great to hear! Excellent job!
I’ve downloaded it (BlenderAVC 0.7) and it is working! However, I am having trouble with the audio and video strips being different lengths - but I have had trouble with Blender doing that too…
Anyhow, I hope I will learn how to fix that someday!
Thanks so much for your hard work!
God bless,
-b
